What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When you book or enquire about a holiday with us, you are providing us with personal information. 

We take matters of privacy and security very seriously. In order to best protect you and your information, our website uses industry-standard SSL encryption throughout, and all areas of our business comply with UK Data Protection Act 1998 and EU GDPR 2018 legislation. We do not participate in invasive tracking, targeted advertising, resale, or disclosure of customer data. The only reason we collect data is to enable us to provide you products and services in a safe and efficient manner. Any information you provide while using this website will only be used in accordance with this policy. This policy may be reviewed and changed in the future, and we will update this page accordingly. This policy is effective from the 01/04/2023.

The information we collect when you make a booking or general enquiry;

We collect some or all of the following information:

  • Your name, nationality*, home address and telephone number

  • Email address

  • Other relevant information in response to your requests and processing your booking or general enquiry.

How we use this information;

This information is used to understand your needs and requirements to provide you with the best possible service and holiday experience for specific reasons:

  • Booking and administrative record keeping.

  • Marketing promotion – from time to time we send promotional emails or other information we think you will be of interest. You always have the option to unsubscribe from further correspondence.

  • Market research – we may use your information to contact you for feedback about your holiday experience. We will only contact you by email, and you will always have the option to unsubscribe from further correspondence.

Security of your information

We are committed to ensuring that your personal information is secure. We have put in place management procedures and both physical and electronic security measures to safeguard your details and comply with General Data Protection Regulations 2018.

Keeping control of your personal information

We will never pass on your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission, or are required by law to do so.

*Under the Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972 all serviced and self-catering accommodation premises must keep a record of all guests over the age of 16. For all who are not British, Irish or Commonwealth citizens, we also require passport numbers, and details of next destination.

How long we retain your data

All booking data is kept for a minimum of 12 months.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

3. What we share with others

Bookings management

We use Queensborough Group to manage our bookings from the website. They use sub-processors HotelHost Company and Rackspace.

MailPoet newsletter & emails

If you have subscribed to our newsletter or if you are a member of our website (you can log in) or if you have purchased on our website, there is a good chance you will receive emails from us.

We will only send you emails which you have signed up to receive, or which pertain to the services we provided to you.

To send you emails, we use the name and email address you provide us. Our site also logs the IP address you used when you signed up for the service to prevent abuse of the system.

This website can send emails through the MailPoet Sending Service. This service allows us to track opens and clicks on our emails. We use this information to improve the content of our newsletters.

No identifiable information is otherwise tracked outside this website except for the email address.
